Silence is good. We say too much at times and regret later what we have said. St Francis of Assisi was once going to preach in a town in Italy with one of his brothers. He walked into the busy market place and walked round and round and the brother followed. Then he walked out of the town. The brother questioned Francis ‘ I thought we were going to preach’ he said. ‘We just have’ answered Francis.
The lesson: We preach by example, words are not needed sometimes.
